This course will provide an opportunity for participants to establish or advance their understanding of research through critical exploration of research language, ethics, and approaches. The course introduces the language of research, ethical principles and challenges, and the elements of the research process within quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approach.
Course description: Independent study on a topic; oral report; supervised research and thesis writing in English or in French.
Objectitves: After completion, students will be able to
1. apply knowledge of research methodology that students have learned into actual practice.

Roles of statistics in daily life; essential tools for informed decisions; importance and utility of statistics; data transformation; understanding and enhancing everyday life through statistical insights.
Introduction to new entrepreneur creation; entrepreneurship appraisal; business opportunity analysis; Business model canvas; market survey and research; marketing strategy for new business; production management; financial planning; investment funding sources; introduction to investing; the risk-return relationship.
An introduction to characters, the writing system and pronunciation; basic grammar and vocabulary; numbers and counting; simple greetings; talking about oneself, and familiar things; making simple conversations focusing on daily life, introducing oneself, shopping, and etc.
Basic Verb structures and tenses; practice in listening, reading comprehension, speaking and writing; fundamental sentence patterns; basic verbal survival skills; read short passages; brief conversations with native speakers, scenario in a restaurant, and travel arrangements
This course is designed to help students build confidence in speaking Korean within the hospitality and tourism industries. Students will acquire the essential vocabulary and expressions commonly used in these sectors, enabling them to effectively address issues and communicate in Korean. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to collaborate efficiently in Korean within hospitality organizations, both domestically and internationally.
