(English) Cooperative education preparatory session; review of literature related to the assigned practical training project; development of the project proposal; project planning and seminar; report preparation and writing; oral presentations; doing case studies and problems in real-world situations through collaboration with industrial partners

This course will provide an overview of the management of engineering projects. Managing teams of engineers, scientists and technical specialists who are brought together in project structures to plan, design and construct engineered systems takes special skills and talents. In this course the student will be exposed to basics of project staffing, planning, scheduling and project control. Organization structures of project management; concepts and methodology of project management; project selection; project planning; project control and operation; project evaluation and handover; project capital budgeting; various project management techniques; industrial case studies of project management; doing case studies and problems in real-world situations through collaboration with industrial partners.

โครงสร้างขององค์กรในการบริหารโครงการ วิธีการและหลักการที่จําเป็นต่อการบริหารโครงการ การคัดเลือกโครงการ การวางแผนโครงการ การควบคุมและดําเนินการโครงการ การประเมินผลโครงการและการส่งมอบงาน การจัดการงบประมาณหมุนเวียนในโครงการ เทคนิคต่าง ๆ ทางด้านการบริหารโครงการ กรณีศึกษาการบริหารโครงการทางอุตสาหกรรม

This course will require students to work in teams on a project of their own choosing to simulate the experience of contributing to a project. The output of this term- long assignment will be a detailed Project Plan Document (plus a Gantt chart) which will include sections covering each of the major topics presented during the lecture sessions. This overall class project is designed in such a way to permit the student to track and apply what the course presents in concept. While the entire final document will be submitted during the eighth week of the class, Weekly Assignments submitted for grades will permit the student teams to make progress on the final Project Plan Document throughout the 16 weeks class period. Upon completion, the class project will in part determine the grade of the student and aid the student in mastering the material.

The Project Plan Document may be thought of as the roadmap which would be given to the actual project team at the beginning of the project work if the work would be implemented. It will contain the results of all the planning and forethought which a project manager must accomplish ahead of the actual project execution phase. Think of it as an instruction manual to be given to the team who will be responsible for completing the project.
