Course Description:

Practice in listening and pronunciation using multimedia; perception of sound, rhythm, stress and intonation patterns; and British and American English pronunciation.

Listening to extended passages in academic contexts; note-taking; taking part in academic discussion; comparing, contrasting, and critically evaluating different points of view in a presentation; articulating one’s point of view in response to others’; listening and speaking in real academic situations.

Study of key literary texts; analysis in terms of ideological background and historical development of their aesthetics.

Principles of food and beverage services of restaurant and dining room services practiced in restaurants in the hotels industries; relationship between customer and service personnel; food and beverage services skills; communication skills and applications of technology in foodservice; basic service principles emphasizing on responsiveness to the customers’ needs; service-mindedness and positive work attitude
